This site sets no cookies at all until you make a choice. Three local storage keys remember your appearance preference, your analytics decision and whether you dismissed the language suggestion. Analytics, if you allow it, is cookieless and stores no identifier.
What this site actually stores
Nothing is written to your browser before you make a choice about analytics, and no content on this site is gated behind that choice. The three items below are browser local-storage keys rather than cookies: they are not transmitted with requests, they contain no identifier, and clearing site data removes them.
Local storage is used deliberately in preference to cookies for these preferences. A cookie is sent to the server with every request, which is unnecessary for a setting only the browser needs, and it would make the responses uncacheable.

Analytics
If you allow analytics, we load a cookieless analytics script that records page views and approximate region without setting a cookie or storing a persistent identifier. It cannot follow you to other websites, and we cannot use it to identify you. Whichever provider is in use is named on the sub-processors page, which is updated before a change takes effect.
If you decline, no analytics script is loaded at all — it is not loaded in a restricted mode, it is not requested. You can change your decision at any time by clearing site data for this domain, which removes the stored choice and causes the notice to appear again.
