DocumentMS accessibility statement

This website targets WCAG 2.2 level AA. That means full keyboard operability, visible focus, contrast ratios of at least 4.5 to 1 for body text, correct heading structure and landmarks, and no content that depends on JavaScript to be readable. Known gaps are listed below.

This website targets WCAG 2.2 level AA. Known gaps are listed below rather than omitted — an accessibility statement that claims full conformance without qualification is rarely accurate.

What is implemented

Verified during the build and enforced by automated checks in the deployment pipeline.
  • Every page is fully readable and navigable with JavaScript disabled — no content depends on client-side rendering
  • A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on every page
  • Landmarks on every page: header, navigation with an accessible name, main, footer
  • Exactly one H1 per page and no skipped heading levels, checked automatically on every build
  • Full keyboard operability, including the navigation menus, which use no JavaScript at all
  • Visible focus indicators with a 2px outline and offset, never removed
  • Contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text, in both light and dark themes
  • Text resizes to 200% without loss of content, and pinch-zoom is never disabled
  • Meaningful alternative text on every image; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology
  • Tables use captions and scoped header cells
  • Form fields have associated labels and errors are announced, not only coloured
  • prefers-reduced-motion is respected; nothing animates layout
  • Full right-to-left support using logical properties rather than hard-coded directions
  • Wide tables scroll within their own container so the page body never scrolls sideways

Known limitations

Stated rather than omitted. An accessibility statement is only useful if it is candid.
  • The navigation mega-menu opens on hover and on keyboard focus. It is fully operable by keyboard, but it is not a formal ARIA menu-button pattern, and some screen reader users may expect the latter
  • Interface wireframe images carry descriptive alternative text of the interface they depict rather than of a photographic screenshot
  • This statement covers the marketing website. The DocumentMS application is assessed separately against WCAG 2.2 AA; its conformance statement and the current list of known issues are available on request from the address below, and are provided as a matter of course during a public sector procurement
  • Conformance is established by internal assessment and automated testing on every build, not by an independent third-party audit. Where a procurement requires independent assurance, tell us early — we will arrange it against your timetable rather than claim we already have it

Reporting a barrier

If you encounter a barrier on this site or in the product, email info@documentms.com with the page address, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using. We acknowledge within 2 business days and come back with either a fix or a date within 10 business days.

Accessibility problems are treated as defects rather than as enhancement requests. If something on this site prevents you completing a task, that is a bug on our side, and we would rather hear about it than have you work around it.
